Calendar and Special Events
ONGOING
Meeting for Worship - 10:00 a.m. every First
Day (Sunday).
Children are welcome to join the meeting for the first fifteen
minutes, when they gather for First Day School in the Annex.
A social coffee usually follows Meeting for Worship.
Meeting for Business – 11:00a.m. on
the second Sunday of each month, immediately following meeting
for worship.
Spiritual Life Group meets at 8:45 a.m. on the first and third First Day of every month. Discussions are open to all. This informal gathering comes together to share spiritual discussions and journeys. Currently the group is exploring the Pendle Hill Pamphlet, "Invitation to a Deeper Communion" by Marcelle Martin.
Harmony on the Hill - 7:00 p.m., first Thursday of the month on Quaker Hill at the Wilmington Friends Meeting. Harmony on the Hill provides entertaining and inspiring live music and performances to enrich and strengthen our community and encourage and support an enlightened society. a display of photos and architectural drawings that studies the ways the faith and practice of the Religious Society of Friends has informed the shape and function of their buildings.

Ron Young is the co-coordinator of the National Interreligious Initiative for Peace in the Middle East—uniting 33 prominent Christian, Jewish and Muslim leaders in an collaborative effort to mobilize public support for positive U.S. leadership in pursuit of peace between Israel, the Palestinians and the Arab states.
Ron Young’s book, Missed Opportunities for Peace: U.S. Middle East Policy, 1981-86, has been praised by Jewish and Palestinian leaders as well as U.S. policy analysts. He has taught on the Middle East at Haverford College and lectured at The Chautauqua Institution on the Middle East and on “Religion: Source of Violence or Peace?”.
Ron served the American Friends Service Committee as National Peace Education Secretary and Middle East Representative in Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. He has coordinated nationwide AFSC peace education programs, with a focus on Vietnam and Southeast Asia, Southern Africa, Central and Latin America, the Middle East, Arms Control and Disarmament and Economic Conversion.
